In 1995, students at the Rochester Institute of Technology discovered that film could be developed in coffee. Since then, Caffenol was developed which is comprised of coffee, vitamin C, and washing soda.

Dave Schumaker, Stilson Snow, and I shot twenty roll of B&W film, digitized the images, and worked our darkroom magic for this show.

I've always been fascinated by alders. Seeing rosy groves across a valley and realizing that they were alders. Here in Humboldt County, we have Red Alders. Over the course of winter and spring, I've taken thousands of photographs of alders in order to put together this show.
